Our approach is rooted in leading with love, emergent strategy, and human-centered design/design thinking.

  1. Habits & Practices

Much of what limits individuals’ and groups' ability to recognize their full power and potential are rooted in habits -- unconscious, repetitive patterns of behavior. An unconscious habit can be a strength we are not optimizing and a weakness that can get in our way or be exploited against us. Individuals, organizations, and even movements all have habits that require our awareness.

We help individuals and organizations recognize habitual patterns of thought and action, and invite conscious practices that are intentionally and rigorously cultivated to interrupt harmful habits and support their most powerful work.

  2. Third Path

One common habit is binary "either-or" thinking, such as the belief that either you win or you lose. This thinking fuels the valorization of competition, hierarchy, and self-interest.

We guide individuals and organizations to interrupt this habit, expand their perceptions of what is possible, and seek a third path. We encourage the practice of "both-and" thinking, which requires both discipline and imagination.

  3. Fractal

Our capacity building work is grounded in the inextricable link between inner transformation and outer change. What we foster in our environment has to begin with us and those closest to us. How we are is where we start, to create the change we seek in the world.

  4. Learning Together & Co-Creation

We value multiple ways of knowing, deep listening, and co-creation. We have as much to learn from those around us as we have to teach. We especially honor the lived experiences of those most directly impacted by an issue, and center their leadership in designing solutions.

We create spaces, conditions, and processes for learning and doing together that cultivate openness, curiosity, trust, and shared responsibility, so that the wisdom of diverse perspectives can flourish.

  5. Emergence & Experimentation

Rather than a fixed plan or “program in a box”; we strengthen an individual or group’s capacity for continuous learning and evaluative thinking. By facilitating practices and a robust culture of trying things out, gathering input, and refining ideas, we cultivate clients’ skills and readiness to adapt and pivot in the face of ever-changing conditions, which in turn supports long-term sustainability.
